Apps for the smartphone can be a tremendous asset and make life easier, especially for bloggers. Especially those who travel frequently appreciate that.
I myself am a big friend of such apps and make regular use of the useful herllerlein. For example, I like to answer mails in the train and usually trifles from the phone. Especially if I do not have a computer nearby.
In this blog article I would like to introduce you to some Android apps that make my blog work a lot easier and completely free. Because blogging should connect …, no matter where we are right now.
Note: The featured apps were all extensively tested on my HTC One X and run there easily. So if there are complications or abnormalities on other devices, I would like to see if you can provide a useful alternative.
WordPress app for Android
This Android app does exactly what it should: connect our smartphone to WordPress. Although the handling takes some getting used to, but it is still intuitive and clear. Of course, not all features of WordPress are available to us, but the offer is quite sufficient to blog in between, or take a look at your own site.
After all, we can write articles, moderate comments and upload pictures and photos. Especially for little things, this app is interesting, and of course it is extremely well suited for news bloggers. Click here for the app.
Blogger app for Android
Even though I’ve been a loyal WordPress supporter since the very beginning, Blogger is after all the number 2 of the blog software and millions run their blog here. So if you belong, this app is the perfect counterpart to the WordPress application.
I only looked at it once, however, and was not able to fully test all the features, as I do not run a blog on Blogger. The ratings of other users, however, seem first-class and I wanted to introduce an option in any case. Click here for the app.
Hootsuite app for Android
The Hootsuite app gives us full access to our Facebook and Twitter accounts, allowing us to update our accounts on the go, which is ideal for short tweets or messages.
It is also possible to check our profiles of Foursquare and LinkedIn, even if they are hardly used in Germany so far. The app is the nicest all-purpose weapon for our smartphone, which I was able to find in this context. Click here for the app.
Google Reader app for Android
I like to stay up to date and like to read what’s written on other blogs. Therefore, I use the feed reader from Google on my computer: The Google Reader. (Article: What is RSS?)
Especially for smartphones are feeds first cream, because they save us annoying load times (keyword: amount of data) and present us the most important of other blogs in text form. This Android app always runs with me when I’m on the go. Click here for the app.
Google Analytics app for Android
Google Analytics is one thing: some love it, the others shout about privacy. I count myself to the first genus and am often evaluating my statistics and traffic, in order to be able to react quickly to abnormalities.
The app keeps us up to date on what’s happening in the background in our blogs and lets you keep an eye on Google Analytics remotely. Above all, I find it very nice that the functional range is quite large for an application. Well done, Google … Click here for the app.
Paypal App for Android
PayPal has become an integral part of virtual life and is used almost everywhere. The app allows us to use PayPal from anywhere. It does not matter if we just want to check our account balance or buy online.
This app makes it possible and is above all a useful supplement, if we operate an online shop or sell other things over the Internet. Click here for the app.
Google Mail App for Android
I can also recommend the Gmail app without hesitation, as I myself have been using it for a long time. Mostly, I even use them when I’m not out and about. So I can check my mails in the morning comfortably, drink a coffee and can skip the computer confidently.
Most bloggers who use an Android phone will have this app installed anyway, but I still think it’s one of the top applications for Bloggers. Click here for the app.
Facebook app for Android
The Facebook app keeps us up to date on what’s happening online. So we can chat here, update our status and use the other functions quickly and easily. I actually like Facebook less, because I think it’s very confusing.
That’s why I’m a fan of the Android app because it reduces the social network to the basics and does not torment me with unnecessary details. Click here for the app.
Twidroyd for Android
I do not know any decent Twitter apps and Twidroyd is one of the few apps that offers the full functionality and does not give up the ghost just because I want to blow 140 characters into the world.
From Twidroyd there is a free version and a paid update. However, I consider the minimal cost of manageable and therefore can also recommend the Proaccount of the app highly, in order to come to the full enjoyment. Click here for the app.
What about you? Do you know some nice apps that are indispensable for the smartphone or an app that makes blogging easier? Maybe you just want to write your opinion on this list? I’m looking forward to your recommendations!
