Election Day 2008 – Make History
By nikkita | November 4, 2008
Today isn’t too much different from any other day, I guess. I’m still eating candy for breakfast, my betta fish, Bowie, is still trying to find a corner in his round bowl, my downstairs neighbor still doesn’t know how to park his car and Chris is still listening to Phil Collins. But unlike any other day where I eat candy for breakfast, Bowie tries to find a corner in his round bowl, my downstairs neighbor doesn’t know how to park his car and Chris listens to Phil Collins, today we can make history.
We all want our voice to be heard, and now is the perfect chance. It is your right and your privilege to vote, and nobody can stop you. It is also your responsibility, so live it up.
And just as a reward for your best efforts, these places will be giving away free treats to voters.
- Starbucks – vote and get a free cup of coffee
- Ben & Jerry’s – vote and get a free scoop of ice cream
- Krispy Kreme – vote and get a free donut
Don’t be intimidated! This is your right. And remember that as long as you’re in line, they have to let you vote, even if it’s after closing time. If you’re confused about your voter registration status or the location of your assigned polling place then visit Can I Vote? (canivote.org).
Now get out there and make history!
