Pylons Threaded

This installation by designer Debbie Smyth was featured at the London Design Festival. What looks to be a sketch of electrical pylons is actually a bundle of meticulously wrapped, stretched and pinned thread, hence the name “Pins and Threads“. Wow, I wouldn’t even have the patience to sketch in such detail, let alone construct such an scene via thread. I kind of feel like I’ve been hypnotized or something which leads me to believe that it’s probably for the best that I didn’t see it in person.
