    Oscar The Grouch Trash

    By nikkita | August 27, 2008

If Oscar the Grouch was peeking out of a trashcan, I’m sure you’d take a closer look. That’s why these trash bags that were illustrated and designed by Lily Franky in collaboration with Sesame Street are beng used as part of an environmental awareness campaign geared towards children. The bags are being distributed to select outdoor events, volunteer groups and schools for free.

This is a rather interesting concept which actually gives credit to the power of a child’s mind. By drawing their attention to Oscar, kids are free to observe the amount of waste we’re plowing through day by day, and can then reach their own conclusions about the way it makes them feel and how they wish to change it. It’s really no surprise that Sesame Street would be behind this as they’ve always been an advocate to supporting growing minds. You rock, kids!
