Solar Eclipse Tomorrow!
By nikkita | July 31, 2008
While a lot of us enjoyed the lunar eclipse earlier this year, another chunk of the Earth will get to witness the rare solar eclipse early Friday morning. Northern Canada, Greenland, various Arctic islands, Northern Russia and Mongolia will all experience a bit of darkness while the moon passes in between the Earth and the sun, literally turning day into night. The big show down will be a little after 7:00 am Eastern time Friday morning.
Here’s a diagram of NASA’s projected path for the solar eclipse.
So, which of you readers will be lying in the wake of darkness, tomorrow?
The next scheduled solar eclipse will be a year from now on July 22, 2009, while the US region won’t be seeing much love until 2017. So to all of you who plan on staring at the sun tomorrow, please remember to always wear protective eye gear. That sun is damn bright, yo!
