Gamervision’s 2nd Annual Guitar Hero Tournament

I’ll be needing to step away from my desk for the day in order to prepare for our 2nd Annual Guitar Hero Tournament, one of the many (yet, the awesomest) events that will be going down at the Kimmel Center’s Summer Solstice Celebration this Saturday. Come hang out with me and the Gamervision staff while we raise money for Child’s Play, a wonderful charity to provide video games for sick children. If you can’t make it down to good ol’ Philly (I swear the happening isn’t happening here), you can tune in to Gamervision and watch the event live via UStream.

If you can hear the distant sounds of power chords and unleashed Star-Power travelling on the wind, that must mean that Saturday the
21st is rapidly approaching. That’s right, we’re just a few short days away from Gamervision’s 2nd Annual Guitar Hero Tournament.If you’re anywhere near the Philadelphia metropolitan area, there really is no excuse for you not to head on down to the Kimmel Center’s Summer Solstice celebration and rock out with us on Saturday night. But it’s also possible that you’re not in the area. Well, fear not! You can still get your recommended daily allowance of rock. Gamervision is partnering with the good people over at Ustream.tv to bring you live video coverage of the entire night! You’ll also be able to log-in to a live chat room to discuss your love for rock and/or roll.
Everything gets under way at 11PM (Eastern) on Saturday with an hour free-play session. The competition gets started at the stroke of midnight.

And remember, although we’re going to be rocking out, we’re going to be doing it for a good cause. The $3 entry fee for the competition as well as any donations collected on Saturday night will be going to Child’s Play, a charity dedicated to getting games and consoles to sick kids in hospitals.
And again, even if you’re not able to make it to the Kimmel you can still help. During the feed we’ll have a live ChipIn donation window where you can give until it rocks.
So mark your calendars. Set your bookmarks. Get ready. Saturday night Gamervision rocks in the summer!
