New York City Waterfalls
By nikkita | April 9, 2008
Have you noticed that there’s a severe lack of waterfalls in New York City? What’s up with that? I thought it was supposed to be like, the greatest city ever yet they have no waterfalls? PSHT.
Ok, NYC is one of my favorite chunks of land on this planet, and actually, there will be waterfalls. From July to October this year, the city will be sporting some man-made falls in lower Manhattan, Brooklyn and on the north shore of Governors Island. These 90-120 ft tall installations are expected to bring about $55 million to the city from tourism. And don’t worry about missing the spectacles. The fountains will operate from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, seven days a week. Beautiful! We can thank Olafur Eliasson, a Danish/Icelandic hybrid of creativity, for this exciting idea!
